Great enthusiasm once again on arrival and a few new display stands to take a quick look at.
A quick chat with the coaches and the lads were straight out for the first session.
Fitness was first on the agenda, quick warm up and then straight on to state of the art equipment that is used at Carrington, united’s training camp. It’s a nice sight to see when your lad is trying has hard as he can and still managing a smile on his face. A quick break was followed by shooting practice, but before the lads started photo’s were taken around the oudoor displays and roller banner stands, more smiles and lots of little happy faces. Shooting practice was all about showing the lads the different techniques, using different feet and going from different angles which gave the lads plenty to think about.
The last section of the course was defending, this was quite amusing to watch as the lads were paired off and joined together by a bunjee cord with a simple snap mechanism that would pull apart when stretched too far, sure enough there was some pretty close defending.
A football festival with mini games made up the last hour, so as most parents returned their child could show off some new skills and techniques.
Time was finally up and lads came off to a rousing reception from family and friends, we all went back inside for a closing ceremony and the presentation where all lads received a Manchester United medal which was of nice quality and a progress report book so the lads could see where their strong points were and where they need to practice to become the next Nani.
What a great weekend, if your child is interested in football I would definitely recommend these couple of days.
Well done to all Manchester United Football Club coaches and staff
